Supermoon Night Hike

Event date and time
August 1, 2023 - 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM

August 1st marks the rise of the Sturgeon Supermoon, and we know just the way to enjoy it! Join Nature Up North for a guided hike at Hart's Falls full of fun activities for the whole family. We'll learn why August's full moon is called the "Sturgeon" moon, what makes a supermoon "super," and explore Hart's Falls Preserve under the moonlight.

The Hart's Falls trail is a 0.7 mile loop rated easy to moderate, we'll view the moon from multiple locations along the trail and beside the river. This event is free and open to all ages. All kids under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a flashlight or headlamp and wear sturdy footwear. Bug spray is also recommended, we'll provide some but feel free to bring your own.

Directions: South of Canton onto County Route 27 (Park Street) for 2 miles. At the four way stop, turn right onto County Route 25 (Canton – Russell Road) and drive for 3.3 miles. Turn right onto Town Line Road (right before the sign for the Town of Russell, the road sign is missing), and travel to end. Make a left onto the Pyrites – Russell road, and within 100 feet, Hart’s Falls will be on your right, soon marked by St. Lawrence Land Trust signs.
